About Austin Novarra, MD

Austin Novarra completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Before going to medical school at Michigan State University, Austin took time out to participate in a minority health and health disparities research funded by NIH. As part of this fellowship, he lived in Ghana for several months conducting sickle cell research, which led to several peer reviewed publications. During his time in medical school, he served as a community mentor for youth ages 12 to 17 at-risk or involved in the juvenile court system. In his spare time, Austin loves to play basketball and golf. He is also an avid collector of historical coins.
