Saranya Khurana grew up in Philadelphia. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Drexel University and then continued at Drexel to complete her MD/MPH. She has a passion for and interest in community psychiatry and health inequities. Saranya has been very active volunteering at her medical school’s free mobile clinics as well as partnering with Philadelphia’s public schools to work in their free out- of-school programs dedicated to improving the lives of underserved youth. In her spare time, Saranya enjoys art, literature, and travel photography. She has published an essay in Drexel’s The Tincture, an annual journal of literature and arts.
